Material-Specific Servicing for Your Hublot
Hublot's fusion of ceramic, sapphire, King Gold and Magic Gold demands a workshop fluent in the materials before the movement is even opened. Our London bench handles Big Bang Unico, Classic Fusion and MP-series references with the correct refinishing approach for each substrate, and overhauls every UNICO, Meca-10 and HUB calibre to manufacturer specification, signed off with a written 12-month guarantee.
Hublot's "art of fusion" approach to materials sets the watchmaker apart, and demands a workshop comfortable handling ceramics, sapphire cases, King Gold and Magic Gold alloys alongside conventional steel. The screw-down bezel architecture, the integrated chronograph of the UNICO calibre and the visible mainspring barrels of the Meca-10 all reward correct technique and punish improvisation.
A daily-wear Classic Fusion in steel and a polished Big Bang Unico with ceramic bezel each enter the same protected sequence, intake diagnosis on the timegrapher, calibre strip to component level, manufacturer-grade re-oiling, refinishing only on owner approval and certification before the case leaves our care.
Every Hublot service includes the following:
A complete Hublot service at Martin Oliva is a calibre and case restoration, not a cosmetic refresh. Every timepiece moves through ten dedicated workshop stages before sign-off.
Pre-Service Diagnostic Trace
Initial readings, rate, amplitude, beat error and case-pressure result, are taken before anything is removed, giving us the documented starting point against which the regulated calibre is later measured.
Bezel & Caseback Decoupling
Hublot's H-screw bezel construction is decoupled and torqued correctly during reassembly, bezel screws are renewed where the original gaskets and threads show wear.
Calibre Strip to Component Level
Disassembly proceeds in indexed order, bridges, balance, escapement, barrel and gear train each placed into their own tracked compartment so reassembly under microscope follows the original architecture exactly.
Multi-Stage Component Cleaning
Cleaning protocol matches the alloy, steel and brass move through their own ultrasonic cycles, plated components are handled separately, and jewels and pivots receive treatment matched to their materials.
Manufacturer-Specified Re-Oiling
Under microscope, each pivot and jewel receives the oil grade specified by Hublot for that calibre, UNICO, Meca-10 and HUB1100 series all have their own oiling chart, and we follow each one precisely.
Ceramic, Gold & Titanium Refinishing
Hublot's signature material mix, ceramic, King Gold, Magic Gold, titanium and steel, is refinished using the correct technique for each substrate; ceramic is repolished by hand only when feasible.
Crown, Tube & Pusher Sealing
Standard service includes full gasket renewal, crown seal, tube washer, caseback ring and the chronograph pusher seals on UNICO and HUB chrono references are all swapped before the case is closed.
Depth & Air Pressure Certification
Closed-case pressure testing certifies the watch against its original depth specification, both dry-air and wet cycles are performed, and the certification is added to your service file before dispatch.
Five-Day Position Rate Trial
Five positions, five days, the regulated calibre is read on the timegrapher in each orientation across the trial so the rate, amplitude and beat error are observed under varying mainspring tension before sign-off.
Twelve-Month Written Guarantee
A 12-month written guarantee from Martin Oliva accompanies every completed service, covering the bench work and any component our watchmakers fitted during the service.
Hublot Service Prices including VAT

Hublot Service FAQs
How often does a Hublot need to be serviced?
Hublot's general guidance is a full service every four to five years. Daily-worn pieces, chronograph references and any timepiece showing rate drift or moisture under the crystal should be inspected sooner, a short assessment at our bench will determine whether intervention is needed now.
Can you replace or refinish a Hublot ceramic bezel?
Ceramic surfaces cannot be refinished in the conventional sense, they're either intact or replaced. We inspect ceramic bezels and inserts during every service; where chips or hairlines compromise the fit, we source genuine replacements through trusted horological channels and fit them as part of the service.
Do you service the UNICO in-house chronograph?
Yes, the UNICO HUB1242 and HUB1280 calibres are part of our regular workflow. Both feature column-wheel and double clutch construction visible through the dial, and we service them to manufacturer specification including the modular complications stack.
Will independent servicing affect my Hublot warranty?
While a watch remains within Hublot's own international warranty, manufacturer servicing is generally advisable to preserve the original guarantee. For timepieces outside that warranty, an independent service from Martin Oliva uses correct parts and follows the calibre's service sheet, and is fully covered by our own 12-month written guarantee.
Do you handle Hublot's exotic materials, King Gold, Magic Gold, sapphire?
Yes, our bench refinishes King Gold and Magic Gold using the same brushing and polishing techniques used for traditional precious metals, with the appropriate adjustments for the alloys' hardness. Full sapphire cases are inspected for stress fractures rather than refinished, and exchanged where damaged.
Can clients outside the United Kingdom send a watch to your workshop?
Absolutely. We regularly receive timepieces from clients across mainland Europe, the Gulf, North America and Asia. Contact us in advance and we will guide you through insured tracked shipping, declared values and the customs documentation required.
