Master Chronometer Servicing for Your Omega in London
Return your Omega to its certified performance window with a complete in-house service — Co-Axial escapement attention, antimagnetic regulation, water-resistance recertification and a written 12-month guarantee on every piece we sign off.
Every Omega is engineered around exacting chronometric and antimagnetic tolerances — from the historic Calibre 321 chronograph that travelled to the lunar surface to today's Master Chronometer Co-Axial movements certified to withstand 15,000 gauss under METAS protocols. Holding those tolerances across years of daily wear depends on disciplined maintenance: degraded lubricants, fatigued mainsprings and ambient magnetism all push a calibre outside the rate window it was built to keep.
Whether you wear a vintage Constellation pie-pan inherited through your family or a brand-new Seamaster Diver 300M Co-Axial purchased this season, our London bench treats each reference with a service protocol matched to its architecture. Every timepiece is overhauled, regulated and certified entirely in-house, with a single 12-month written guarantee covering the work.
Every Omega service includes the following:
A complete Omega service at Martin Oliva is a calibre overhaul, not a cosmetic refresh. Each watch progresses through ten dedicated workshop stages before it is signed off and released back to its owner.
Reference & Calibre Identification
The caseback and serial are logged, the calibre confirmed against Omega's archive sheet and the relevant service specification pulled from our reference library before any tool touches the watch.
Baseline Performance Capture
Initial timegrapher and pressure-test readings are recorded so that final regulation can be measured against the precise condition in which your watch arrived.
Movement Strip & Component Cataloguing
Escapement, balance, mainspring barrel and bridges are removed and arranged in an indexed tray so no part is ever cross-contaminated during cleaning or reassembly.
Stepped Solvent Cleaning
Components pass through a graduated solvent ladder with separate cycles for escapement parts and barrel internals, where contamination patterns differ and require dedicated treatment.
Co-Axial Escapement Attention
The three-level Co-Axial wheel, pallets and impulse jewels are inspected for wear and re-lubricated using the synthetic oils developed specifically for the system's lower-friction architecture.
Mainspring & Barrel Renewal
The mainspring is replaced as standard practice on every service, and the barrel walls and arbor checked for wear so that delivered torque returns to specification.
Antimagnetic Regulation
Master Chronometer calibres are verified against rate and amplitude benchmarks equivalent to METAS, with the watch fully degaussed if any residual magnetism is detected in the hairspring or balance staff.
Case, Bracelet & Crystal Treatment
Case sides, brushed lugs and bracelet links are hand-restored without softening the original chamfers, and the sapphire crystal replaced if scratched beyond what polishing can safely correct.
Depth Pressure Certification
The resealed case is verified against the reference's original water-resistance rating through dry-air and wet pressure cycles, with the result documented in your personal service file.
Six-Day Rate Trial
The reassembled calibre is observed across five positions over six days, with rate, amplitude and beat error required to settle within chronometer specification before the watch is signed off.
Omega Service Prices including VAT
All figures below include VAT and cover the complete ten-stage protocol. "Modern" applies to references in current or recent production; "Vintage" covers discontinued calibres and earlier references where additional bench time and period-correct sourcing are typically required.
All prices include VAT and the 12-month written guarantee. Replacement components beyond standard service items, full case refinishing and any restoration work requested by the owner are quoted separately following the workshop inspection.
The Service Journey
Four straightforward stages carry your watch from the first enquiry to the moment it lands back on your wrist.
Contact
Send us your reference number along with any observations about timekeeping, water resistance or chronograph behaviour. We reply with an estimate and arrange insured courier collection or an in-person appointment.
Diagnose
Your Omega is examined by a senior watchmaker, performance is captured on the timegrapher and a written diagnostic plus quotation is shared with you for approval before any work begins.
Overhaul
Once you sign off, the watch enters our ten-stage protocol in the protected workshop area. Typical turnaround sits between four and seven weeks, subject to calibre complexity and parts availability.
Despatch
After certification, your watch is packed in protective storage alongside its service certificate, pressure-test results and 12-month written guarantee, then returned via insured courier or collected from the showroom.

Co-Axial Trained
Our watchmakers are trained on the three-level Co-Axial escapement and have benched every generation of Master Chronometer calibre — from the 8500 series through to the contemporary 8800, 8900 and 9900 families.
Chronograph Heritage
Manual chronograph servicing — the Lemania-based calibres 321, 861 and 1861 — is one of our senior bench's most regular disciplines, including period-correct dial work and acrylic crystal sourcing.
Secure Logistics
Your timepiece is registered against its full open-market valuation on intake, held securely throughout the workshop journey and returned by tracked, insured courier or by private appointment.
Omega Models We Service
From the latest Master Chronometer references to pre-Moon Speedmasters and 1960s Constellation chronometers, our London bench is equipped to service every Omega family.
Omega Service FAQs
How often does an Omega need to be serviced?
For modern Master Chronometer Co-Axial calibres, Omega's general guidance is a full service every five to eight years, with the chronograph-based references closer to the lower end of that window. Watches that have been heavily worn, exposed to strong magnetic fields or are showing rate drift should be assessed sooner — a short inspection at our bench will confirm whether intervention is needed now.
How long does an Omega service take in your workshop?
A standard time-only or 3-hand service is typically completed in four to six weeks. Chronograph, GMT and vintage references usually require six to ten weeks, and Calibre 321 vintage work is quoted on a watch-by-watch basis. A firm timeline is confirmed once the diagnostic inspection is signed off.
Are the published prices final?
The figures listed are fixed for the ten-stage protocol when no additional work is required. If we identify further restoration on inspection — for example a replacement crown, a damaged dial, sapphire renewal or extensive bracelet refinishing — a separate written quotation is issued for your approval before any extra work proceeds.
Will my Master Chronometer certification stay valid after independent service?
The Master Chronometer certificate (METAS) is issued by Omega at the point of sale and reflects the calibre's first independently tested performance. Our service restores rate, amplitude and antimagnetic resistance to tolerances equivalent to that specification, but only Omega's Bienne service centre can issue a fresh METAS document. If retaining the original certification paperwork matters to you, manufacturer servicing remains the appropriate route.
Do you service vintage Speedmasters with the Calibre 321 or 861?
Yes. Our senior bench handles vintage Speedmaster work regularly, including the Lemania-based Calibre 321 used until 1968, the Calibre 861 introduced thereafter and the long-running Calibre 1861. Period-correct components and acrylic crystal sourcing are part of our normal vintage chronograph workflow.
Can I send my Omega to your London workshop from abroad?
Of course. We routinely receive watches from clients across the United Kingdom, mainland Europe and further afield. Get in touch before shipping and we will guide you through insured tracked couriers, declared values for customs and the documentation required for a round trip to your country of residence.
